Keyword Research Tips, and How to Dominate Them!

Keyword research are done in many different ways, and you will probably hear many different ways to do it. For me, I think I have a quite unique way of doing it, since I haven’t read about it anywhere, and it works like a charm.

I usually use the built-in keyword research tool in senuke, as it does most of the work for me, other than picking the good keywords. – Which is quite simple once I have the data.

But the most important thing, is to find the keywords that give the highest ROI, with least amount of time spent. I only focus on keywords I know I can dominate, and I always do. I’m not great a creating websites, but I know how to make a SEO-optimized wordpress blog. Then all I have to do is to include my long-tail keyword in the title of the post,in the tags, and a few times in the main body of the post. I might also submit an article if neccesary. Then I go for dominating the entire frontpage of google with web 2.0. – Which is quite simple. I personally use senuke for this, but it can easily be done manually, and it doesn’t take that long.

But Preben, how about the keyword research?

Yes, I’ll tell you.

I use a combination of wordtracker and google keywords. Then, all I do to analyse the competition, is to use the little-known command in google called “allintitle”. It tells me how many competing websites are using my long-tail keyword in their own title.

It might even be for a keyword phrase that gets 29million results when you do a normal search for it, but only 9 of them have the entire long-tail keyword in their title. If that is the case, I will definately go for that keyword.

Another thing I look at, is if there are any web 2.0 sites in the search, and how they rank.If there is a digg post with the entire keyword in the title, and they have claimed the 78.th spot in google, I might think twice. But unless that is the case, I’ll go for it.

Once I have gathered a list of good keywords with little “title” competition, I’ll start writing blog posts with the keywords in the titles, and submit several unique stories to digg, propeller,furl etc. with different titles, but still keeping the keyword phrase intact. That will give me several spots on the front page of google, for each post. And it goes fast too!

So to sum up how to find keywords and dominate them:

Gather a list of long-tail keywords with a good number of searches on wordtracker and google.
Analyse the degree of competition in google, by using the “allintitle:yourkeyword”(without hyphens) command in google, and sort your list after the number of competing websites with your keyword in the title.
Register a domain with your main keyword in it. Use .com, .net or .org, as I have found them easiest to rank well.
Install WordPress, tweak it as you like and create a blogpost for each of your keywords with your “weak-competition” keywords in the titles, and write a blogpost like you would have written an article. (With tags etc.)
Optimize your blog for SEO, and ping it at pingler.
Submit each of your blog posts to social media sites with unique titles and content, still keeping the keyword phrase intact in the title.
Submit the RSS feeds for all of the posts to loads of RSS feed aggregators.
Submit articles for the posts that doesn’t make it to the degree of domination you want.
Enjoy your traffic!

P.S. You might want to spread it out to avoid getting sandboxed by Google.

Submitting RSS feeds to rss feed aggregators is a great way

to easily increase your backlinks, as well as they rank high

in the search engines.

Many of them don’t even require you to sign up to submit a feed, so

it’s a really quick method of getting backlinks.

For example this blog.

I have submitted it to feedage.com, and have gotten it rated as

class “A”. – This means that it’s a verified, and good feed.

It’s the maximum rank to get for an RSS feed by feedage.com.

- This also makes it count more in the eyes of the search engines.

But enough about that. I must admit I am no RSS expert yet, and I’m sure

I still have plenty to learn about it, so I won’t post any “idea’s” I might

have about this just yet.

IMPORTANT! If you want to dominate search engines with web 2.0!

: Yes, these are your friends in the battle for first page rankings!

There are many ways to dominate the search engines these days, as well as many different software and programs to do this using web 2.0 sites.

In this post, I just want to post a few really important tips you should know, before choosing your way of using web 2.0.

My number *1* tip here is this:

Make every social bookmarking submission at least 30% different from the rest!

I hope you got that. It’s really the best tip if you want to have several social bookmarks on the first pages of google and others. Not neccesarily worth it if you have a post that’s going to get bookmarked by many others, or dugg or anything similar, but this is for search engines.

The reason? – Search engine dupe filters.

They will not show duplicate content in searches, as well as backlinks will not count.

So remember this when choosing a social submitter.

This is also why article submitters doesn’t work. – Unless they have a spinner implemented, that allows you to check the uniqueness of the article.

The same rule applies to all content online. So if you’re submitting articles, social bookmarks, video’s etc. Make sure you vary the description.

Here we also have a great advantage of submitting your RSS feed to rss feed sites. – Simply because they usually don’t have a description.

Make sure you optimize for a keyword though, even if you’re spinning you should have your long-tail keyword optimized, by NOT spinning it.

If you’re submitting manually to social bookmarking sites, I would recommend starting with digg.com, as they are quite strict on duplicate content.

Then I’d say propeller and furl. Digg is most important though, as the others usually rank high as well.

For doing all of this spins and submissions, I’d recommend using SeNuke, as stated earlier.

Results are coming now, although not a big rise in traffic, but that’s because of the ever-competetive internet marketing niche.

How to add “Dofollow” tag to links in comments ( WordPress only)

I recieved a comment, requesting a post about how to add the “dofollow” tag to comments in wordpress, and here it is:

It’s really simple actually, to remove the “nofollow” tag from links in comments in wordpress.

All you need to do, is installing a plugin called “Dofollow” from THIS website.

Then all you need to do, is to follow the instructions and activate the plugin =)

In case you want to know why you should do this, listen up:

- So-called “Backlinks” to websites counts as “votes” for a website for the search engines. So having loads of links back to your website, boosts your rankings in various search engines. This is called “off-page” SEO, and is essential for your website to rank well.

- To maximize the effect of each link, you should make sure they are as relevant as possible. As an example, a link from a “spa” website, to your “dog training” website, will have an extremely low value to the search engines – unless it’s from a page on the site about “spa for dogs”. In addition to this, you should make your links into “ancor text” for keywords you want to rank higher on.

Anchor text is basicly a word, disguised as a link, and looks like the link called “this” above, which directs you to the “dofollow” plugin website. That means I helped them to rank on the word “this” in the search engines. Oh my how nice of me! I’ll help them furthermore by adding a link called “dofollow plugin” – Which actually helps them, because they most likely want to rank for that keyword.

There are also many other factors that plays a great role in the category “linkbuilding”, but I will cover them later. For now, just focus on what you have read now.

SEO – A few simple tips

This is actualy really basic when it comes to SEO, but I’m not sure everyone is aware of it yet.

This simple little tip is about naming your pictures and videos properly.

I have seen MANY people online NOT doing this. – They are missing out on some free search engine traffic.

All you have to do is simply naming the pictures you upload with relevant keywords, or even just the name of the picture. What it’s all about. That means that you should NOT upload and use a picture called “img367″ and use it on your website. Then you will have NO CHANCE AT ALL to recieve any traffic from it. Instead, if it is a picture of a dog playing with a ball, call it “dogplayingwithball”. Without hyphens.

If you use hyphens in your URL, google will separate the words. So it will then rank you on dog,playing,with,ball, if you name it “dog-playing-with-ball.jpg”. And those words are a lot harder to recieve a decent ranking for. This goes for all domains. Don’t use hyphens if your keyword is long.

To take the example again, if anyone is searching for “dog playing with ball” and you have named your picture “dogplayingwithball.jpg”, you are most likely to get a good ranking. This is also because it is a long keyword phrase, as well as very few people know of this little trick.

The same goes for videos, and main url. So if this blog’s domain was “i-marketing-blog.org”, google would split it, and focus on each separate word. It might look better in some url’s, but you get SEO disadvantages.
